17 november 2022

FRTO collaborated with Le Tour De India to organize an enriching Evening Heritage Walk through the heart of Jaipur’s walled city. The initiative aimed to celebrate Jaipur’s living culture and create new conversations on how tourism in Rajasthan can grow responsibly and authentically.

  • 📍 Location: Jaipur Old City – Badi Chaupar, Hawa Mahal, local bazaars & hidden alleys
  • 🌇 Timing: 04:30pm-09:00pm
  • 👥 Participants: FRTO Members, guides, heritage experts
  • ✨ Highlights: Walking tour, cultural storytelling, street food tasting, tourism dialogue

Program Overview

The walk began as the sun dipped behind the pink sandstone walls of Jaipur, painting the old city in golden hues. Members of FRTO joined experienced local storytellers to uncover Jaipur’s hidden gems—from ancient temples and artisan lanes to vibrant bazaars and historic courtyards.

Along the route, members paused at culturally rich stops to learn about the traditions that still thrive in the city’s bylanes. Traditional sweet shops, temple rituals, and local artisans provided a unique window into Jaipur’s everyday heritage.

Following the walk, a group discussion was held around promoting tourism in Rajasthan in ways that respect culture, encourage longer stays, and support local communities. Street food sampling and shared laughter added warmth to this insightful evening.
